We had a blast this weekend, spending 4th of July at Lake Texoma. Uncle Matt & Aunt Cheryl came on up on Saturday morning for the neighborhood 4th party! This was our first year participating in the festivities and we quickly learned these guys like to have some fun!! We decorated the golf cart and partook in the golf cart parade. We didn't win any prizes this year but now we know what to expect for next year!! Dave has a plan ;) There were also turtle races that Paul and Dave really wanted to participate in. G and Paul found a turtle on the road and saved it from being run over so we named her Liberty and decided to race her. She was WAY bigger than the other racing "box" turtles and had a sly grin on her face. After we tried to register Liberty for the races, we were DQ'd due to Liberty being a water turtle. That sly grin was in fact the face of a water snapping turtle ready to eat! We think Liberty would have dominated the races, bit all the other turtles, and took home the championship. Paul wasn't too disappointed and took to riding his new bike all over the road! After the neighborhood BBQ we headed home for some boat time and a nap for Paul!! Sunday was just as busy with more friends coming up for the day, margaritas, lounging on the porch, and playing on the beach. We shot off a ton of fireworks that night, while Paul yelled MORE MORE MORE! The lake is the BEST place to spend the 4th of July! We look forward to many many more 4th's on Texoma!!!
